This notice explains what personal data the operator of the bestlangoshbudapest.com website and of Traditional Goulash & Langosh House (Sas utca 9, 1051 Budapest) handles, why, on what legal basis and for how long, who receives it, and what your rights are. It follows Article 13 of the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679, GDPR) and Hungarian Act CXII of 2011 on informational self-determination and freedom of information (Infotv.).

2. What this notice covers

contact by email and phone, including group booking requests.

3. The individual processing activities

3.1 Contact by email and phone, group booking requests

The form on the Groups page sends and stores nothing: it opens your own email app with the details filled in, and the message reaches us only if you send it.

Data: name, email address, phone number, date and time of the booking, number of guests, the content of your message; for phone calls, the calling number and whatever you tell us. Calls are not recorded.
Purpose: answering your enquiry and arranging the booking.
Legal basis: where the enquiry concerns our services, steps prior to a contract taken at your request, Article 6(1)(b) GDPR; in every other case the controller's legitimate interest in answering the people who write to it, Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Retention: for as long as needed to answer the enquiry and handle the booking, then deleted.
Recipients: the controller's staff; the mailbox provider (section 4).

Please do not send health or other special category data. If it is about a food allergy, only what we need to serve you safely.

3.2 Server logs

Data: the visitor's IP address, the page requested, the time of the request, the browser and operating system type, the referring page.
Purpose: running the website securely, finding errors, investigating misuse.
Legal basis: the controller's legitimate interest in the security of the website, Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Retention: for the period the hosting provider sets for providing its service.
Recipient: the hosting provider as processor (section 4).

3.3 Cookies, analytics, third-party content

This website sets no cookies, writes nothing to your browser's local storage, and contains no analytics, advertising or social media code. Fonts and images are served from our own hosting. The map is an image built into the page from OpenStreetMap data; no outside service loads for it. The links for directions (Google Maps, Apple Maps) open only when you click them, and from then on that provider's own notice applies.

We pass data to anyone else only when the law or an authority requires it.

5. Transfers outside the EU

The mailbox provider may also process data at its parent company in the United States (Google LLC). Google LLC is on the list of organisations certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, so the transfer relies on the European Commission's adequacy decision of 10 July 2023, Article 45 GDPR. We transfer data to no other third country.

6. Security

The website is served over an encrypted connection (https). Only designated staff can access the mailbox. We keep a record of personal data breaches, and if a breach poses a high risk to your rights, we tell you as well, Articles 33 and 34 GDPR.

7. Your rights

Under Articles 15 to 21 GDPR you may ask for:

information about and access to the data we hold about you (Article 15);
correction of inaccurate data and completion of incomplete data (Article 16);
erasure, where there is no longer a legal basis or purpose (Article 17);
restriction of processing (Article 18);
the data you gave us under a contract, in a machine-readable format (Article 20);
and you may object to processing based on legitimate interest (Article 21).

Send your request to netpromotion.ggl@gmail.com. We answer without undue delay and at the latest within one month of receipt; for complex requests this may be extended by two months, which we tell you about within the first month (Article 12(3) GDPR). This is free of charge unless the request is manifestly unfounded or repetitive. We make no automated decisions and do no profiling.

8. Remedies

If you believe the handling of your data breaches the GDPR, you can complain to the supervisory authority (Article 77 GDPR):
